AAPOG LAUNCHES "APA FAMILY SAFETY DAY" Programs
The Asian American Peace Officers of Georgia (AAPOG) is pleased to introduced a special community outreach program which will bring Asian Pacific American officers to places of worship and community settings, so that Asian Pacific American community members may learn first-hand from experienced officers about various safety issues which impact the well-being of APAs in Georgia.
Beginning in 2012, under the direction of AAPOG executive director Tricia Sung and AAPOG VP of Community Outreach Mike Grant, the APA Family Safety Day program launched at the Atlanta Chinese Christian Church North (ACCCN) in Johns Creek , Georgia with over 160 attendees. The APA Family Safety Day is a two and a half hour program includes the following components: (1) a Q & A Officer Panel addressing safety issues, (2) a second session on a topic requested and recommended by the APA community organization, and (3) an opportunity to meet and speak with officers and AAPOG members.
